As part of a Northern Region Deanery ministry, members of the Episcopal Church have installed a Blessing Box in the front lawn of St Peter’s Episcopal Church in Niagara Falls. All the deanery churches have agreed to help stock the “mini food pantry” with not only food items, but also personal care and hygiene products.
“We have been overwhelmed by the direct ministry that the Blessing Box has brought to Niagara Falls,” said Rev Helen Harper, Priest-in-Charge at St Peter’s. “
. It is filled one day, and empty the next.”
The box was constructed and donated by Rich Panelli to help alleviate the need for food to the city’s homeless and also area families in need.
“Take what you need…Leave what you can, is written on the Box window. We invite the community to help us stock the Blessing Box, by dropping off items during St Peter’s office hours (9-1pm weekdays) at 140 Rainbow Blvd, or by filling the Box directly. In the Episcopal tradition, we strive to help those in need and this is just another way for us to do so,“ said Rev Helen.
